our little family went and we had a great time, except for my 8 yr old that kept saying he wanted to go home and go to sleep....

Thanks Patti for the suggestion we had a great time and hopefully this will become our little family Halloween tradition every year to come.

a SPOOKTACULAR evening

yesterday after a long day at work my cousin CLEOPATRA invited me to go with her to a pre halloween party somewhere in Oak Park.

I am big into Halloween always have been. So when she invited I jumped at the invite because I honestly have never been to an adult hallows eve party.

There are very creative people out there. I started out as a vampire and at the end of the night when I got to her place I ended up being Frida when I connected my eyebrows.

We danced so much that by the end of the night our feet were hurting so much we couldn't even walk to the car... I WAS honestly laughin my butt off. I am so old for this. Can't stay out past 12:00 I thought to myself.
All in all, it was a nice night and today I am off to go visit my father and brother as this coming week is
their birthday week.

Thank the LORD that this will be a short week for me as I took a few days from work to enjoy the upcoming Halloween weekend.

TODAY, not what I was expecting at all, I had a wonderful note awaiting me saying that she would be in the area.... this lady has followed my blog for many months now.... even though we had never met I believe we made a connection....

I had the pleasure of meeting Patti from Creative Cottage dreamer. She wrote that she would be in my part of the world and if we could meet.... of course I thought to myself... she was so close how could I not.... it would be a short visit as her daughter was in the area playing soccer and I was on my way to my son's soccer game as well.

It was short but sweet.... HI PATTI!!!! it was so nice to meet you......

I dragged my two boys and the hubby with me.... wish we could have visited longer.. but maybe down the line there will be another visit.

Downtown Chicago Marathon - Viva SYLVIA

I want to congratulate Sylvia for such a fantastic job running in today's marathon... Sylvia came all the way from Colorado to participate. I believe it was 26 miles and she finished in 3 hours and 41 minutes. She is now qualified to run in the Boston marathon in April of 2010.

Sylvia is a good friend of my cousins and I am so glad my cousin Yoli asked me to go.... What an inspiration all these runners were. I got to see the runners from KENYA, wish I could have taken a better pic but they passed by so fast. The handicapped runners were of great inspiration as well because they were out here proving that they do not need the most important limbs to compete....

I am so happy I went and it was so much fun that I am already planning on being there again next year to support such a great event!

A big thanks to Gary and my cousin Yoli for a wonderful time and Gary thanks for treating us to some wonderful Mexican food at Lalos and for the good conversation we had.....

I love me some mushrooms, love to eat them to.

On a walk the other day, at one of my favorite places, these beautiful mushrooms were pointed out to me just hanging out at the edge of the tallest pine tree.
