Chicago's Buckingham Fountain

my parent's were nice enough to go with me on Sunday night to visit this wonderful fountain. it's a must see if you are ever in downtown Chicago. the lights change every few seconds from yellow, orange to blue and purple. this fountain means a lot to me. it's a place that brings back past memories. I loved spending time here. these are good memories. it was nice to visit it one more time.

friends in the city......

I went to my mom's house in the city for a couple of days and met up with my bff friend JLO and her cute family. we went to Navy Pier just to hang out and enjoy the day. it was wonderful. Sunny and not toooo hot. my children have not been to a beach in a long time so before we left the downtown area we went to the beach next to the pier. I could not leave the pier without having a good old Chicago style hot dog and then went to a taco dive named Pacos Tacos on Pulaski. I usually do not buy tacos because I can get that at my mother's house, but I had to try these Jennifer said. they were delicious especially the meat one. I will go there again and recommend it.

I woke up this morning missing my home in MO. I am on my way to my mom's house today to stay for a few days. hopefully that will distract me. have a good week. will write more soon.

of my favorite things. the first is a bag I got from the gap, the second is a bag my mother got for me from Mexico, and lastly a beautiful flower from my mother's garden. I will share soon a few pics I took of her garden. my father and my mother are into gardening big time. everywhere they go they are always looking for seeds to take back with them and add to their growing flower beds.

VINTAGE HALF DOLL

my husband was nice enough to take me to this cute little antique store in Winnefield, IL. what a cute little place it was. an old house transformed into a little antique store. what I loved the most was the wonderful yard. just beautiful with large trees shading the greenery surrounding the yard. I left with this very afordable half doll. affordable because she was made in Japan not Germany. inside on the seem of her dress was written DEC 24- 1957 MHN and at the bottom it says VERA. the voluteer worker was very nice and welcomed me to the area. I also talked to two other ladies from Naperville that were very nice indeed. I am an old soul and I enjoy talking to people. I love this area that we are in because there are forest preserves everywhere. when we were leaving the little antique store we ran into a park that had a waterfall. AMAZINGLY beautiful. we took a walk and sat near the waterfall. I hugged a tree for a while and then came home. I did not have my camera with me, but I will return since it's real close by to my apartment. I hope you are having a good weekend. next week will be the Sandwich, IL antique market which I am going to go attend if GOD permits. my mother is going with me and I will bring my camera along. stay tuned.

Pool Party

hanging out at Michelle's pool. the temps have been pretty high here in IL. We were invited to Kankakee two days ago for a fun day of swimming. even the puppy was worn out. the boys had a great time and I am happy that this move has not upset them as much as I thought it would. they enjoy spending time with my friend's family and for that I am thankful.

I took these photos at my friend Michelle's home. Her sister Jen which is my best friend invited my boys and myself to go spend some time at the pool. She has a very big yard and these flowers and angel statue caught my eye.
