I'm going back to the start

So as I was watering my orchid plants last weekend when I noted that the Phalenopsis (in the green pot) is going to be giving me flowers soon. The flowers will be white. I believe my mom gave me that plant last year in April for my b-day.

Every time I see my plants thrive it makes me happy as I know I am doing something right. I recently changed it to a bigger pot and it loved that.

so here are a few more pics taken yesterday when the sun was out. I woke up this morning to a few snow flurries, a bad headache, my crazy chronic neck pain, a virus that has not gone away this will be my 4th week of being sick and a dog wanting me to get up before 7.... Tobie seriously it's Sunday honey .... I think my dog Tobie thinks it's Monday and treat time (I think he's loosing it - don't tell him)

Have to count my blessings though..... have a peaceful week.

I was up late Friday well really on my way to bed when I heard this song starting to play and it made me stop in my tracks. First of all I think the music and just the way they really put their all into it was terrific in my eyes, but just the talent to be able to love and play an instrument. I think that's beautiful.

so this weekend went fast. went to the show to watch the Underworld awakening vampiers and lycans my kind of movie. then we went to try a new mexican dive in Melrose Park which was I swear packed packed packed. I had this delicious lengua torta and of course some grilled onions with lime and salt. I have not had a torta in years as I try to really watch my bread intake especially if it's white bread. It was very delish though.

Two of my orchid plants have bloomed and still have tons of buds waiting to have more flowers.

The rest of my weekend was boring just spent most of my time washing clothes.. fun hugh? I guess someone has to do it right. Maybe next week I will be able to go see my new nephew. I have had a bad head cold for the last week that I was not able to go see him this weekend like I had liked to.... oh well, maybe next Sat or Sun.

so I cook? Yes, lately, I have been doing a lot of cooking. Last weekend my cousin came over since her mother is out of town and not there to take care of her she asked if she could come over and I of course in need of some girl company said hell yes and what do you want me to cook for you?

my good friend Alicia recently gave me the quick recipe on how to create these yummy green enchiladas. I have never been fond of them but occasionally I will eat them.

So I made my cousin some hot green enchiladas for her and I made a few sweet ones for me. They are all stuffed with cheese. At the end you just put them in the oven to keep them warm and for the cheese to melt. I am actually very impressed that they came out so good. I say that because I don't love to cook. I have to be in the mood for it, but when I cook it comes out very delicious just like my mom's cooking.

okay so I am back home and I can definitely say that we had a great time, but I am glad to be back as I am worn out. We did so much walking that yesterday I got back to the hotel and was out about 11:00. I actually almost fell asleep while I was supposed to be watching the boys in the pool.

I had not been to the Shedd Aquarium in a long time and it's a pretty amazing place. Loved the Jellies which I will have to post some pics for you soon. The pics came out so great that I can't believe that I took them.

Also I was able to take a few pics of the firework display at the Pier which were amazingly beautiful and even though it was very cold there were a ton of people that showed up and tons more that were coming in when we were leaving.

okay so I swear I feel like I have gained at least 10 pounds in the last two months...

so I again have decided to loose those extra pounds starting in January.

one of my resolutions again....

so having crepes once in a while is out of the question. no more chocolate which I love and cookies gosh I love cookies.

another thing I have decided to learn how to do is forgive. I am not very forgiving I take everything to heart, but maybe it's time to let go of my past and what has and had caused me a lot of pain. not sure if I will be able to do this since I am human and forgiving to me is like letting go of the pain I have lived with for so many years. Like loosing a limb. Like loosing a 50 pound bag that I have carried on my back for so many years. Loosing weight is much easier then forgiving. I am just being honest here.

I guess I just feel that if I forgive the people that hurt me they have won and have gotten away with murder, but my counselor states that is not the case. She says that I hurt myself over and over again since they have gone on with their lives. It's true they have. SUCKS truly. I have to really get myself ready for this and not sure if I can do it so I am not promising anything at this point. okay I got into this tooo deep and I really have not discussed my true feelings in such a long time and I don't want to start now.

I am so looking forward to 2012. 2011 was a learning experience. learning how to deal with my feelings and learning how to let some stuff go that we can't control.

2012 what will it bring? hope wonderful things for you and me...

I am on my way tomorrow to spend the whole weekend in downtown Chicago with my boys. Not sure what we are going to do.... Maybe the art museum or the planetarium. we will see and yes of course the camera is coming with.

so I hope your weekend went wonderfully well.

on Sunday I was invited to my cousin's place to eat a very tasty Christmas meal. We drank too much and I swear we ate toooo much. Opened gifts and just hung out. Towards the end of the night we ended up going to Gary's friends home somewhere close to Oak Park. Not sure exactly where as I was in the back seat with my niece and friend Sheila.

They took me to this wonderful home built in the 1800s. My cousin had told me about this home, but it's one of those things where u have to go see it to believe it. I stupidly did not have my camera with me or maybe I did and I was a little bit to toasty to find it in my bag. Plus it would of been rude to whip it out and start taking pics of someones home right?

well let me tell you it was a BIG treat. We were greeted with Champagne and we got a hour tour, the house has three floors plus a cellar NOT A BASEMENT. They were wonderfully nice people. Okay I wish I could show you pics, but the home was like if you stepped into antique heaven. They had two humongous sun rooms, the nativity set took over one whole room wall like if you were at church, the pool table was covered with zebra skin, the best room of all was the green room upstairs all the way down this hallway that had this perfect Christmas tree and beautiful flowered wallpaper with all these vintage pictures. Their doggie sleeps in that room it's bigger then my bathroom. One of the guest rooms has its own sun room and as you were leaving it goes down this other hallway. I wish I would of had my camera, but again did not want to be rude.

I can go on and on as I was truly amazed and happy that I went to see this home. At the end they invited us to have some cake and cookies and more champagne... they were getting ready to leave the next day to go stay at their other home in Florida. Yes, WOW is all I have to say. So here are a few random pics.

Fantastic time - MORRISSEY CONCERT 2011

Okay I have to say I had a fantastic time last night.

Morrissey did not disappoint.

he sang one of my favorites Every Day is Like Sunday and also LET ME KISS YOU.

I sat next to a young man that was really fun. We were both dancing and singing and he told me he was happy to sit next to someone that was having a good time. I ended up in the balcony. With my bad neck issues maybe it was best. Even though it would have been fun on the main floor.

I stupidly did not think I could bring my camera and they really did not check my purse... I regret that for sure. It ended when people started trying to get onto the stage to hug him and all the security were just throwing people back into the crowd like rag dolls. So I did take a few pics after the concert of the outside. Tons of people all over.

I am so happy that I went. I would not have missed it for the world. And I have to say that it was so great that I lost my voice from all the singing.

can u believe that Christmas is just around the corner. where did the time go. thank God that this year I was able to send out my cards and I did not procrastinate doing that. some people already received theirs and I still have more to mail out - hopefully this weekend.

tomorrow is my jobs happy hour in Downers Grove looking forward to that since I really do not go out that often to mingle with people. hopefully it will be fun.

so don't forget get crack a lakin on that shopping if you haven't started. I have two more gifts to pick up and I am done. A few more packages to wrap and I will be done with that as well. The only thing that I need to finish up doing is making my chocolate covered pretzels... those will be handed out at work.

CREATING AGAIN......

so I decided to get back into creating.

even though I did buy some really cute Christmas cards the other day. I have been on a roll creating one of a kind cards for some of my closest friends.

You should see the mess I have on the dinner table. Every night I clean it up but when I bring all my stuff out it's all over the place.

I recently entered a card contest at Paper Source wish me luck. It's really funkier then anything here I posted. I will show you soon. I will post it after the 19th when the contest closes. so I hope you enjoy some of these pics. I had so much fun making these yesterday I created for about 5 hours and that is why today I am paying with all this neck pain that I have. It's worth it though. Some of these have gone out in the mail while others will be dropped off tomorrow.

I did create others that are still not pictured. Maybe this will become one of my most favorite traditions.

okay so who would of thought that I would love to eat sushi... don't get me wrong I am not someone that is shy to try any kind of food. I will at least try it once.

So recently I was invited out to eat to try something different - SUSHI.

Now I love thai food and who can say NO to shrimp fried rice, egg drop soup and sweet and sour chicken, but Sushi the real stuff.

When I say real stuff I mean made in a restaurant not bought at Target or Walmart already prepackaged.

I did not know what to pick so we picked a few different rolls. Some of it had avacado in it and how could I not try that. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so relaxing with dim lights and colorful wall art that changes color. pretty awesome place. so I am sharing some pics that I took with my new little Canon camera I got on black Friday. Not sure if I am digging the camera yet but it did take great pics without the flash. So here are a few pics from this past Sunday.. Enjoy.

so have you started your Christmas shopping? I got a few presents on Saturday that I picked up here an there...

my plans today were totally messed up and somehow I ended up in a small Catholic chappel that they leave open very late... probably was there for about two hours just thinking and repenting and I did leave feeling better, but with an immense headache..

I feel better now for sure, but not sure if I will be celebrating Thanksgiving with my family... we all have family issues right?

I am just a bit stubborn and I wear my heart on my sleeve and when I am encountered with an issue that I can't handle I run away. this time THANK GOD the chappel was close by because honestly that was the best place to run too. I finally left when someone sat behind me and was hitting my chair... out all the little chairs that were there they sat behind me and kept hitting the chair.. I finally grabbed my bag and left.

okay ya'll my brain is fried, my eyes are puffy and I have no more energy left for the day... Thank God this day will end and tomorrow we start anew...

Music... I love music always have... my father was the one, when I was growing up, that would put on music all the time and especially on the weekends when we were doing our chores... he still loves music as much till this day...

Most of the time when I post a song here on my blog it's not just because I love it, it's because the words have a true meaning of what I am going through... or how I am feeling or how I have felt...

this song is true about me, how I feel sometimes, but mostly of one of my past relationships that ended very badly.... that relationship made me how I am today...

I build up walls around me for protection... only a few are allowed to come into my maze... I have learned that you don't need hundreds of friends JUST TRUE FRIENDS in your life... and if you don't have that then you better learn to love yourself because when you are walking alone in this world you better enjoy your own company...

so I don't know about you but I have been bitten by the (CHRISTMAS (whispered) bug...

I had stopped creating a while ago, took me three years to start again.
I guess I was creating with my photography, but not on paper.

Slowly I have started again. So here are a few of my Christmas cards that I have created... Very plain, but I like plain. Of course ribbon will be attached, but at least I have started again. Keeps the mind preoccupied.

So I am off today, took my boys to school, running to do some errands and just hang out with myself... I am so used to that.

I honestly can't believe that we are already in November and Thanksgiving is just around the corner...

As much as I love Thanksgiving and eating all that great food my mother makes or people bring in at work, I also look forward to the black Friday hot buys the stores have to offer...

I believe last year I worked the day after Thanksgiving this year I believe I won't have to so it's going to be a long 4 day weekend... YAY... yes I am so looking forward to that and hitting some of the stores way early to get some of the great deals... NO, I promise I am not one of those people that stand outside the store for hours, in line and in the cold. I wonder if they will have a good deal on cameras that is what I look forward to...

So I hope you are looking forward to Thanksgiving as much as I am and actually I can't wait to start decorating for Christmas... I already made some Christmas cards which I will show to you shortly.

This is my last week at my position I hold with State Farm... I got a new position in a different dept and I am so looking forward to that change. We will see how that works out.

well it's Sunday night and I am getting everything ready for this week...

Been washing, went to my oldest son's soccer game..

I must tell ya that all that walking I did yesterday going up and down the trail really did a number on my legs.. I just had to add some mineral ice on my left leg as it is killing me... gosh is this how it's supposed to be when you get old... I am only in my early 40s can you imagine how messed up my body will be in the next ten years...

so I am back to work today... never made it yesterday... have been laying on the floor since Sunday because my lower back gave out.... you know how hard it is for someone that is very antsy to be laying on the floor.. I watched a lot of TV and looked at some pics I took, watched AMERICAS MOST HAUNTED... my favorite time of year for shows like that...

so a trip to the doc and steroid meds for 6 days and YOU should be back to normal... I should of said can you also take my neck pain away that I have had for the last 5 or more years...

I am so used to pain and somedays are better then others... always on medication which sucks..

My advice to you youngens - don't get old...

so what a beautiful day today don't u agree,,,,,

the sun was shining and it was not that hot.... I did end up going to the farmers market and I took a few pics.
I then drove to the Arboretum.... have I told you lately that I love this time of year... the trees right now are breathtaking and by the pics I took I hope you will agree.. Of course I did not leave the market without buying something.... just when I think that there is nothing else that I would like to buy I run into this beautiful scarf with my favorite colors brown and green with a bit of fuchsia and beige... can't wait to wear that...

tomorrow I am off to the Orchid Show... my parents are coming with so I am excited as my parents love love love plants... My parents always have had plants all around their home and who knew that I one day would have plants all over as well....

Apple Picking in Michigan

Since I can remember my parents have always loved to go picking either it be apples or tomatoes... I still remember those long ago memories. I remember my mother always bringing food and towels so that when we picked tomatoes we would clean them, put salt on them and eat them right on the spot. It was always fun when we would find the biggest tomatoes or deformed tomatoes... So the new family tradition with my brother and his wife and their two boys and my two boys and my parents is apple picking. This is one of the reasons I do not regret having moved back to Illinois... I wanted my children to have memories just like this. With their family, cousins, uncle and aunt and grandparents. This was something that was very important to me, this is why I am glad that we moved back.

so it's Friday tomorrow and I am not looking forward to that at all... a good friend of mine from work is going to a different office and leaving me behind... we have grown to be good friends and in a few months I will be moving to the same office as well. I am so used to seeing her every day and we have such fun during lunch time... this really sucks. I am very happy for her - less stress and closer to home, but I am being selfish here.

I guess people always move on.... hopefully soon we will be reunited and the friendship will continue.
So for now she leaves Luci and I very sad.

Happy Fall Yall......... okay so not sure if you know this but I love love love love this time of year..... sweaters, boots, boots, sweaters, orange, brown, yellow, gold, leaves falling, trees in their fall attire... how beautiful is this time of year..... I love the chilly nights and the wood burning fire places.. the smell of a fire what a wonderful smell in the air especially when the moon is in full.....

buenos dias I am up early again... I am getting ready to go to the Kane County Flea...... okay okay I am lying I am off to work and yes I volunteered to go to work on Monday - Labor Day... are you crazy Angie?

Yes, but it's for a good reason. My dad's b-day is coming up and all that good overtime $$$$ is going to him... his b-day is just around the corner....

BUT I have two days off next week and what will I do with myself... maybe the antique mall in Lagrange or the farmers market close by....

Halloween is fast approaching folks... and let's talk about FALL....yes I can smell it in the air, even though for the last two days it's been pretty hot here in Chicago...

the Kane County Flea is going on this weekend so if you are off why don't you consider going. I have soccer games tomorrow otherwise I would of loved to have gone... but there is always Home Goods. I think they have all their Halloween stuff out.

gosh its been a few days since my last post... really have not had it in me to blog...

lots a changes coming my way... possibly at work and just sometimes stuff gets in the way.

my two boys have started school and I can't believe that my oldest is an 8th grader now. Wow I remember those days...

you know when people tell ya that they grow so fast and you should enjoy your children when they are small - it's true.

kind of funny, today when I was at Target doing my usual weekly shopping for misc things, I heard a baby crying, the baby sounded like a new born... I swear I can hear a baby cry a mile away and part of me wants to run and hold it... and then I remember Angie it's not your baby... your babies are 14 and 10.... wow 14 and 10.. I guess it must be that motherly instinct still inside me... part of me wishes I could have one more but in reality I am to old now... to many complications after the age of 40 they say.

I still enjoy my boys, my 10 year old is still like he is 3 or 4 to me in my mind and when I size him up with someone that age I can see how much bigger he is and he is not my little baby any more. My 14 year old well he has past me up already... way taller then me now.

so I am up way early supposed to be getting ready for a soccer tournament in Rockford and also in Elgin all day today and tomorrow if it doesn't rain.

and then off to my cousins 40th b-day party in the city... mingling with a few old friends and cousins... hope it's fun and I am not too pooped out after all the running around I will do today.

so here are a few more things I was lucky enough to pick up.

the pillow on my chair was just the pillow case I purchased. Of course all is brought home and washed in hot water with soap.

also the pink plate that you really can't see with the melon on it. I think I got that for 1.20.

the strawberry picture was just thrown in cause the picture came out so good... don't they look yummy.

okay gotta run my parents came by to see me.... and yes all this fruit was waiting just for them.

so this morning since I am boringly doing chores, while waiting for the washing machine to finish I like to set up props and practice my photography.

everything in this pic was bought at my favorite thrift I had wrote about before.

large white platter I think was around 1.20, the beautiful flowered bowl don't remember less then 3 or 4 and all the vintage linen I think was around 4.00 as well.....

I also love going cause I can always convince my mother to go with me and I get to spend time with her.

sooooo okay gotta run will be back soon to post more pics, my son just came home with his first snake.. a normal ball python ( whatever that really means) I am afraid to ask what a non normal ball python is. I gave in, it was his 14th birthday on the 4th... so running upstairs to make sure it's in it's cage and not roaming around the house..

it's getting later and later and I cannot sleep.... toooo much diet coke... not really a good thing to drink when a person deals with anxiety... should of picked water instead.

so it's been a while since I have shared any of my crazy feelings.

I guess counseling and the medication have taken a bit of the edge off.

at least that is how I feel sometimes. I guess some stuff is better left behind in a small room under lock and key - dont you think?

I recently met this lady which for some strange reason the connection was made, a connection that came out of no where. she is so sweet always calls me georgeous. I truly don't think of myself that way but I go along with her cause honestly I don't know what else to say. She comes sometimes to my desk and gives me a big old hug like if we have been the best of friends for years... sweet lady. I saw her crying the other day not really knowing why. I did not want to pry. I got the nerve to ask her to lunch not to talk about her issues, but to let her know that she is not alone in her pain. We all have issues and things we like to hide or that we can't deal with. GOD knows I have mine and have dealt with them for so many years... have I let them go yet? NO not at all, maybe I am trying to let them go away slowly. not used to not have issues. they become a big part of you.

it's very hard to forgive and forget. my counselor says by forgiving it's not that you are saying that what they did was right it's a way of letting go. NOT SURE if I will ever be able to let go or if I will ever truly forgive. Maybe I am not ready to do so...

so somtime this week I will join this lady for a quick bit to eat, wish me luck. not sure if I will be able to help her or give her good advice. I just want her to know that someone does care even though at this point we are truly strangers.... sometimes strangers are better friends to be honest.

so my cousin Yoli made the plans and we all showed up.

fun was had by all especially myself with that mint coconut mojito that I had... by the way I am not a big drinker so before the food came I was feeling very good and had a few laughs sitting next to Gary... sorry Gary did not get your pic.

so Cousin Adrian even though the years have passed and our lives have taken different directions you still are close to my heart and I was glad that I made it to your 40th b-day dinner. (sorry for my perv jokes)

love their yogurt parfait with the crunchy granola bits they give you on the side.

got to see my mom and dad and yes I did get to go to the thrift with my mom and will show you soon what I got. love that store if I lived closer I swear I would sneak there every day...

glad I am off today on my way to the mall with my two boys... just to hang and then tomorrow going to the waterpark with my cousin and our kids to go have some water fun.... she says all she likes doing is the lazy river - we will see.... now I have to go find a bathing suit... not tooooo thrilled about that.... have never really liked being in a bathing suit.... hope I don't run into anyone I know...

I am off today.... yay......up early... why is it that when you can sleep in you dont? I could sleep in and enjoy a few more zzzzzzzzzzs and I am up and ready to go at 6:30 a.m. I already took the dog out, put a load of laundry to wash, cleaned my front glass door and it's only 7:05...

so what am I up to today, have promised my youngest to take him to the pool. I don't really do pools but since he has been dying to go I will be the nice mommie and take him. I can maybe catch a few rays and get some color.

my parents are back from their 2 month vaca in Mexico so I promised to go see my mom while dad is working. (maybe I will get a chance to go to the thrift that I love to go to).

my oldest does not even want to hang out today at least that is what he told me yesterday. I guess he is getting older and now thinks he can do what he wants. we will see.

so I hope you all have a great weekend. I do work tomorrow but then I am off Sun, Mon and Tuesday...

so yesterday by a GOOD mistake we passed by downtown Lombard and they were having a vintage car show...

since I grew up with all boys and a dad that had new used cars about every other month just because I have always have had a soft spot for these beauties.

so I called my brother told him to come on by and we took the boys to enjoy a night out checking these babies out...

of course our boys only wanted to mess around instead of enjoying and admiring the cars... all my brother kept saying there is not one car that was a monte carlo as he has an old 1977 monte carlo that he had worked on and still has it in storage.... I am not sure if they have this every weekend but if you love cars maybe you should check it out.

p.s. my favorite of all time - MUSTANGS as my favorite uncle always had mustangs when I was younger

Had a nice time spending it with my two boys... we hit a couple of book stores today Borders and Barnes of course we could not leave without everyone getting something.

Did not get a chance to go through all the pics I took this past weekend so U get stuck with this one of some of my peonies and the white orchid I got for my birthday from my friend Luci....

So gotta run now, I forgot I left my camera in the car and honestly don't want nothing to happen to my baby...

oh and talking about baby I was just told this weekend I am going to be an aunt of course my brother is flaunting in my face that it's a girl.... will this be the first girl to come into our lives other then my mother's doggie....
